On top:
SC-1 (around $8-$10/can),
on the bottom: (fenders, hoses- non-metalic)
tire shine (the one that is on sale- $2-$3/can) at Your local auto store or Pledge (from under the sink)
metals: like A-Arms,frame- WD-40.
.....tire shine good for rubber also plastics and does't dry so fast- good mud repeller - same with pledge.
....SC-1 -very good everywhere (plastics, metals, rubber, wires etc.) but expensive compare to tire shine yet can do miracles to Plastic finishes- that's why I'm using on top.
WD-40 good water/dirt repellant rust preventer but not so good for rubber bushings, CV boots -on the long run can "dry" the rubber and cause the breaking. I think that should give You an answer

One thing ive done that does seem to help, before i ride in alot of mud, i take some silicone spray, or something similar and spray the underside of the fenders and the frame area down. The mud slides off alot easier. Matched with a power washer, cleanup is real easy.

Yep, any silicone base lubricant is good for that purpose. But might leave a thick layer unless applied with wax applicator. Some automotive care products contain silicone.
As I remember SC-1 is also on silicone bases.

I use Simple Green for cleanup. It works without damaging my rubber parts and wiring.

I experimented with Rain-X under the fenders and on the suspension before a muddy ride today. The dried mud came off with ease. Sprayed it on and didnt wipe off.
