Hey guys I'm new here and need some help. I have an 05 Kodiak 450 and am thinking about replacing the stock 25's with some 26's. Question is, how much will this affect my torque/power when climbing hills? My hunting lease has a pretty steep mountain switchback I ride up regularly. Is this a bad idea? Thanks.

Air lid= Big Gain on Mod Bike?????

I was talking to a guy today at hmf that i had met at mud nats and he told me that i bike modded will benefit more with a high flow lid than with a stock bike. Dont call me stupid yet. What it boils down to is that pretty much ties the mods together, and your modded bike with high flow pipe cant high flow with a restrictive intake. And by all means the stock lid castrates it. So whats hes saying is the intake holds all other mods back in theory :deal:. Open the lid up you get more air= more fuel, more in more out= more power, i was also told that the faster you can get air in, the more torque you make. It all seems to make sense. So with all the B.S out the way, is he wrong, right, in the middle when he says a modded bikes intake is more important than others? Dont beat each other up too bad.:icon_ goofy:

hey everyone, yesterday me and my brother set out for Oswego Valley ATV club in Hannibal, NY. To sum it up, it was awesome!! We left our house at about 5:30 in the morning and started riding at about 6:45. besides being mauled by thousands of mosquitoes in the morning, it was a great ride! The whole atv park has about 38 miles of trails all together, since we went on a wednesday (work day for most) we had the trails completely to ourselves! riding with other riders would be very fun i do not lie. the trails were awesome, and my grizzly 700 handled great! i could have done all the trails in 2wd, but i have a 4x4 BEAST, so why not use 4wd? the mud was fun, the trails were long, my quad handled great, and getting lost was kept to a minimum.

all in all, we had a great time. anyone in upstate new york in distance of hannibal, join the oswego valley atv club, the trails were great!!!

sorry i do not have pictures, my brother forgot his camera

Ok so I had been having problems fouling plugs, not idleing, way low fuel mileage. I got into the pod and found that my tps was reading morethan double what it was supposed to be at idle. I replaced the sensor set it to 15 put another new plug in and it fired right up. It appears to be running fine, however I pulled the plug and it is super black. So for some reason I'm running rich. I went back to as close to stock air intake as possible, the pod is set at 0 and the tps is still reading 15. Anythoughts? I am pretty sure my plug should be almost a mocha color not black. Any help will be greatly appreciated..

:rocker:I was wondering what oil you guys are using for the winter (grade and make)

Where I live it some times can be as cold as - 35c and on average it is -15c and my bike dosent like to start when its cold

I was told there is a sensor for the oil pressure and when the bike turns over if it dont build up pressure it wont start so hopefully if this is true ? it will start better with a lighter oil

I've had my Griz for about 6 years now, and currently have a 2" high lifter lift on the front w/ the rear hubs flipped. I have been kicking around the idea of getting the 5.5" Gorilla lift for a long time, but haven't ever actually seen one in action. My machine is more of a mud rat then anything else and is already a money pit. So really, I just wanted to get everybodies thoughts on the idea.

I'm already aware of the fact that it is going to take away from the functionality of trail riding and will add to the roll over factor. I'm a little more of an advanced rider, so I know to concider these things when going w/ a big lift. Currently running 30x11x14 silver backs on ss212 3+5 black rims (already widens the wheeler by about 4") Still running stock axles as well. The other thing is the fact that the gorilla lift will add an additional 3" to the width. So in short i'll have a small tank rolling down nerrow path! :peace:

For those of you that like riding mud holes, which do you prefer? I am 95% a trail rider who goes through the mud when it is in the way but every now and then I cant help but to play in a big mud hole. We were riding in one the other day that was almost as deep as the tires and I prefered low gear as I felt like high bogged down too much. My brother disagreed as he liked keeping the wheels turning faster. What are your thoughts? I can tell you that I ride in High almost the entire day unless I hit a very technical hill or deep mud.
