Please post in the appropriate forum that relates (we have engine forums, tire forums, accessory forums...and all the others too) to your topic. This way when someone (including us) comes here to look for answers, it will be a lot easier to find info. If you are posting something in general that you cant find a forum for, then this is the place to put it.
Thanks for helping us try to get the info organized. |

Interesting day on 12/6... And a question??
So we had our first snow here in PA so riding yesterday was no questions asked We had a great time trail riding and it turned out I dressed perfect for the day. Never got cold. Towards the end of the day we were riding a trail that ended in a small grass field on a slight hill. Being that it was covered in snow I decided to be a jack ass and start ripping donuts... Got through 1 1/2 rotations and I guess my tires caught and off I went. I felt the bike start to roll so I dove like I was sliding into second base. I quickly turned around and the bike was doing a barrel roll right towards me. I got out of the way and lucky for me the 550 Griz did a complete roll and landed right back on it's tires . I landed kind of hard on my shoulder which is sore today but otherwise no injuries. I had to laugh at myself... after the griz stopped rolling and I was fine of course... I think my rear Tamarack storage/rear seat saved any damage to the body as it looked like nothing had happend. Griz stayed running I hopped on and finished the day of riding. Something felt off just a bit however and when I got it back to the truck I noticed that I bent the handle bars on the left side down a bit. Still very usable but noticeable just enough to be annoying. Is this something that can be fixed or should I just look at a new set of bars?? If new bars can anyone give me a rough idea of cost. I was hoping that it would have stayed on it's side so I could take a picture for my sitcker but none such luck Good day overall but I hated seeing a 3 month old machine rolling down the hill. Oh well! Thanks!

Glad you are okay. The bars might be able to be bent back. A stock grizzly bar is $55.77 through bikebandit.com. Maybe someone will sell you a used one cheap or you could go the Rox set-up.

Sorry to hear about your day of fun taking a wrong turn at rolloverville. Glad you did not suffer ant major injuries or damage.
You may be able to straighten your bars. Remove your controls on that side and get a large pipe to use a leverage. Work it slow, and if you mess them up, just get new ones.

Thanks for the replies! I will see if I can bend them back first and then replace the bars if that does not work.
After reading these posts I think I figured out the problem.. I was knitting and riding at the same time I will proudly display the ROC stickers if I get them... Note to self... Donuts on an incline are not a good idea

Glad to hear your ok and sounds like the Grizzly held up pretty good. I know how easy it is for STUPID to creep up on you when your not paying attention.
Now go out and get your self a Roxy Riser Grizzly Combo Package from Roxy. Our sponsor here will show you how and even give you a discount. It is one of the
4 MUST DO MOD's!
Hey what do you know, it's perfect timing for Christmas!

Stupid does indeed creep up. Stupid is usually funny when no one gets hurt however You have peaked my interest. First- which sponsor are you talking about that can help with a ROX griz package? and I assume 1 of the other must do mods is tires, so what are the other 2?
Thanks for the welcome into the ROC club by the way. Not the first club I intended joining when I got the new machine but ya gotta start somewhere

Butch you were close BUT no cigar!
I believe most of us would agree the 4 must do Mod's would be
TIRES---stock dunflops suck
RISER---stock handle bars well what can I say
SKIDS---If you plan on saving your frame
SHOCKS- Most expensive Mod but a MUST never the less
To get a great ride and protect the Grizz these are a must.
A winch is a want, will not protect or make your ride better.

Sorry but after getting stuck and pulling out others who have been stuck or broke down A WINCH IS A MUST! I just wish everyone else I ride with would get one already. Shocks are nice but not a must especially for the price.

Thanks as always guy's. What is so great about these handle bars? As far as I can tell it looks like the bars are elevated which I guess would explain the name risers. I am not sure if I want the bars elevated as I have always felt the bars were in a comfy spot for me.Of course that did not help me from joining this exclusive club they call GCROC Just curious of why you think I should buy these instead of just getting another set of stock bars. Thanks again everyone!

Butch by your own admission you are saying that a winch is not a MUST because none of your friends have one.
I'm guessing there must have MOD is YOU!

Hey kevin you will not believe how much better your grip and sitting position on the Grizzly will be with Riser's.
The options for handle bars is unlimited and a 3" riser won't make the bars much highter then stock. The steering ability is so much better and turning easier.
You won't be sorry!

Sounds good. I think I'll give them a call. I would like to get out again this weekend but my shoulder has actually started getting a bit more sore. Hopefully I did not do more damage then I thought. I don't think it's anything a few advil wont handle.

You will be happy to know that I ordered my Rox Riser Grizz setup with risers and new handle bars and grips... Excited to get them installed Was just thinking, should I have added the pad?? I may call back and add hand guards as well. I hope I enjoy these as much as you guys enjoy them. Either way they have to be better then my bent stock bars

I got my stickers!!! Thanks DD I will post a pic as soon as I get them put on. I also got my Viper Max 3000 winch installed. Now I just need my Rox bars to come in and I will be all set. I do have one more question. On the same day as I rolled the bike I had another mishap that I forgot about. Earlier in the day I was simply riding down a wooded trail and I must have hit a stick that was on the ground in just the right way with my front tire that it sprung up and pierced right through my floor board. It was like getting speared from someone under the quad. The stick was about 2" diameter so it is a nice hole. It is not too big of a deal because it is all the way to the front of the floor board, not near where the grip or peg part is. Should I decide to replace it is this a complicated job? I would assume like most things on the Grizz it is just bolted on but have not crawled under it to look. As I said it was a very interesting day! I'll post pics once she is ready to go again. Thanks!

If the floorboard is not to bad, just zip tie it back together if you can. I fixed 2 spots on my floorboards that I broke. Then I bought the atv slidder plates from ATVROCKS. There is no way to run a stick up through the floorboard now. And yes they just bolt on.
