I do not recall any changes being made to the 700.
The serial number would tell that year it is.

Bought a new 2014 700 grizzly in camo , but had to wait 2 months for it to get here . Picked it up on friday 9/6/13 and my salesman told me something that i never heard of for the new grizzlys , was that the hour meter only starts working when you put it in drive now . before it always ran up hours when you turned on the ignition .

the 2014 front and rear racks are slightly different than a 2013, and the machine is wider. if you set them side by side you can tell the difference.

WTH?! I just looked the images up. They dropped the bar from the bumper back to the frame/rear mount point. This allowed you to run w/out the racks. Now you will need to fab something up to support the from bumper.

yep, that kinda stinks and they didn't increase the rack capacity. none of the secure mount stuff will work.

Easy way to tell is the 2014 have a single exhaust header vs the dual exhaust header of the later models.

I read on yamaha web site that they change the motor a little bit it has a Combustion ratio of 10.0:1 on the 2014 vs 9.2:1 on a 2013. Also the Exhaust is different too.

I bought the 2014 for all the changes they made. had they done the same changes to the 550 I probably would have bought it. but I think the changes are worth paying the extra money for a 700.

Hi..not really new to the site, just couldn't find my old password. Anyhow picked up a new 2014 Grizzly 700 eps wanted to let you guys know what i think about it. First of all i owned a 2005 660 and a 2010 700 non eps. My 2005 660 was trickout pretty good with works shocks and wider offset wheels, shim mod etc... the 2010 700 was just stock. The 14 has a wider stance witch handles better and the shock springs are coiled different to soak up the bumps better...not saying there like Works shocks or Elkas but a big improvement over the old shocks. Engine wise,i think it runs the same not that much of a difference. The eps i cant comment on because i never owned one with it but it sure is nice now that i have it. I would recommend getting the 14 over a 12 or 13 model. There is a noticable difference in my opinion and worth the extra cost.
