2016/17 Cabin Fever - Yamaha Grizzly ATV Forum
General Discussion Welcome to General Discussion. This is a general forum where we talk about anything that is NON-GRIZZLY related. Please post in the appropriate forum that relates (we have engine forums, tire forums, accessory forums...and all the others too) to your topic. This way when someone (including us) comes here to look for answers, it will be a lot easier to find info. If you are posting something in general that you cant find a forum for, then this is the place to put it. Thanks for helping us try to get the info organized.

2016/17 Cabin Fever

I have noticed a lot of threads being "taken off into the cabbage". Or for better words taken off topic. I feel as though it's that time of year again to fire up the cabin fever posts.

This thread is basically for anything and everything from snow reports to plow pictures to home renovation (or building Okbear) just generally anything that is being done to avoid the onset of cabin fever in these winter months, when riding isn't as easy. Oh and post pictures of riding as well so we can all hate you

ENJOY

Had some cabin fever this morning on this cold rainy day here in Eastern Missouri. So the wife and I went and picked up our
daughter and granddaughter and went to Cracker Barrel and had some great breakfast and a lot of hot coffee!

The new house plans are just about finalized and red lined with the changes we have made. I'll update my thread when we get to that point. Going to get the construction loan done in the next week or so. The county will bore the water line under the road and set the meter in January. Planning to break ground in early February!

Here, the hills are socked in with snow. Guys on sleds can make it but quads and sxs are out of luck. Calling for snow down low tonight which will dampen the desire to take it out of the garage. Woke up this morning to -5 and have been told an arctic front will hit a moisture over our area this week and the white winter will start. As far as I am concerned snow belongs on mountains and should stay away from our streets. Ugggg winter is here

Hey T... "taken off into the cabbage" I picked that up from some crazy ass redneck Canadians that made videos of guys jumping over big hills, car, trucks, alliances, snow piles while riding jacked up lawnmowers, go-kart, shopping carts, and whatever after sucking down a bunch of courage. A couple of them appeared to be the engineers and one other madman was the sacrificial lamb. All the time with several other cheerleaders rolling on the ground.

Now days when trail riding gets out on the stupid end of logic I use the term.

That would be the dickers. Haven't checked them out in a few years. Looks like that got run out of town.

By the way I wrote "alliances" I meant "appliances". 5:30 am the words looked the same to me?
All though they may have jumped some alliances?

Had coffee this morn with a bud a few years older than me. He is kinda conservative son of a banker, white collar job guy. Way more cautious than I am. I relayed the info about very sick friend I spent the day with yesterday. His response was "life is too fa-king short! Screw putting a new radiator and battery in your 700. Get your ass down and buy that new Griz".

He's got me thinkin!

Enjoyed everybodies post, here is my news:

Still had a big hickory tree, plus one hundred years old, down in the yard since the Tornado that passed through when I was out atv'ing in Colorado back in July.

This idea belongs in the Tips for the Married Man thread, but anyway, told the wife, if she wants that tree out of the yard, gonna need a bigger chain saw, doesn't really matter to me........ (I really had the hots for a new chain saw) I wanted the Husqvarna 372xp. Already have a 562 XP and a 550xp, and a couple 475's, all Husqvarna, but who can't have enough chainsaws?

I was pretty much going to get one for Christmas, mentioned this to a good friend of mine, and he placed me in "Custodial Care" of a Stihl 661CM. 90cc, this is the mother of all chainsaws.

I sliced up the tree Saturday into pieces then started cross cutting the pieces. I used a gallon and a half premix by myself. Never done that before in three years on the farm.

My hats off to anybody that can run that bad boy without stopping to suck some air. Any chainsaw people on here?

About two more weeks of using that saw I would go from looking like this

to looking like this

I run with an ECHO 20" saw myself. Always with my when I'm out riding around on my hunting lease. Never know when you have to blaze that new trail or clean up some blow down. I've been caught once or twice with out it and it takes a long time to get through a 3 inch tree with a Fiskars Brush Axe.

Is no cabin fever here. Very avid snowmobiler to the tune of 4k to 6k miles per year. Spend 3 weeks up in Quebec, the rest in VT, NH, and ME. I don't see the wife much in the winter, LOL.
