Im not going to state my entire gun collection, threads like these are a good way to have a thief target you... Just because we are all friendly grizzly owners on the keyboard doenst mean there isnt dishonest people around...Of course my 500lb safe and 2 boxers tend to keep theives thinking before acting...

Favorite hunting rifle is definately my Remington 700 BDL short action .308, its a lightweight mountain style rifle with a 21" barrel and a leupold scope. Anything within 300 yrds get demolished!

Favorites shooting guns, well I have a few of those. personally fav. is a newer addition to my collection. a Remington 700 model Sendero 7mm Mag., added on a stainless muzzle break and install a timmy trigger. its a 500 yrd clay piegon killing machine. I plan on taking out something with it this year though. I might try and tag me a ground hog at 800 yrds this coming winter. Another favorite is my Marlin 22 mag., cheap and fun to shoot. accurate and just a good gun I dont mind beating up. Also in this group is my newest rifle which is my Savage .17HMR, it has a laminated thumbhole wood stock with a stainless heavy floating barrel. topped with Mueller Eradicator 32x scope. I can shoot dimes off a fence post at 75 yrds with it. Varmit anilator...

Fav. gun to carry on my Grizz is either my XD .45 or my Marlin 450 Nicknamed Thumper!!!

Oh, I almost forgot my most Fav. rifle to date...Well i guess its not technically a rifle yet..

Im building a custom caliber rifle called the 500 Max, its a 375 Ultra mag brass with the neck blown straight out and capped with .50 cal pistol rounds. Using a Mauser VZ24 action to start the project and loaded with a Stainless Douglas barrel on a nice laminated wood stock.

Not sure where you got your info, but the NRA has had this as a "scam" years ago. This thing surfaced back in Bill Clinton's era, and people keep forwarding the email every 2-3 years and get it started again - but it ain't the NRA. In fact, they've released another notice about the inaccuracies of the email (I can't find the old one, it was there YEARS ago) last year:

NRA-ILA :: Clearing Up the Rumors: The Truth About The "Gun Tax Bill"

Oh - by the way - nothing wrong with getting real info out - there's simply too much going on, and all kinds of stuff buried deep in all kinds of legislation (much of it not remotely akin to what the actual bill is about).

There's no doubt there are various segments in this country who desire to fundamentally change the U.S. Don't know why those nuts want to go the route of socialism - we've already had one major 75 year example of how big a failure that type of government is. Interestingly, many of the European socialist countries seem to have begun a streak of "rampant" conservatism the last 2-3 years. The rest of the world slowly begins to wake up, but the liberals in this country are just really getting started.

So - no harm spreading relevant issues - but please check.

Someone is building up their gun collection.....literally....on our dime:

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) intends to purchase sixty Remington Model 870 Police RAMAC #24587 12 gauge pump-action shotguns for the Criminal Investigation Division. The Remington parkerized shotguns, with fourteen inch barrel, modified choke, Wilson Combat Ghost Ring rear sight and XS4 Contour Bead front sight, Knoxx Reduced Recoil Adjustable Stock, and Speedfeed ribbed black forend, are designated as the only shotguns authorized for IRS duty based on compatibility with IRS existing shotgun inventory, certified armorer and combat training and protocol, maintenance, and parts.

Picked up a couple more pistols this past weekend. Grabbed a Ruger LCP and an FN Five seveN. I can't wait to shoot the Five seveN this weekend! I'm definitely done adding to the collection for a while. ;)

I'm thinking the next thing on the horizon is the AR 57 upper, but that's not til the summer or fall... ;)

Hebs,
Love the Fn five seven. Looked at one yesterday here in NC and they wanted $1180. What did you pay for yours? Never shot one but hear they are pretty accurate with an amazing punch for that small of a round. I just bought the GSG 5 .22 cal two weeks ago and then Mossberg SPX 930 last week. They are both really fun and cheap to shoot.

I paid $1100 for mine. I've heard you can get them cheaper, but its getting harder to find them. (stupid people have started buying them up after the Ft. Hood shooting)

I finally got to fire it a couple weeks ago, and all I can say is it is a blast. It's very accurate. (8" MOA from 50yds with SS197 ammo using the iron sights) The recoil is less than an M9... (beretta 92FS style for ya non military types)

ROTFL... a 6lb pistol... That's just redic... I've only held one once. My buddy has one, he just won't shoot it. It's a collectors item to him... I think I'll stick to one I can aim and shoot with 1 hand, not a bipod...

Actually I use it for hunting and it is quite accurate. On a good day I can group around 2-3" at a 100 yards off of sandbags. At 50 yards free hand and standing, I can put all the bullets in a 8" shoot and c(this is much easier said than done!). It has a 2.5 x 8 Nikon EER Monarch pistol scope on it and the recoil isn't as bad as one might think, now the muzzle blast is another story.................

2-3" MOA at 100yds w/ a pistol is crazy! I didn't realize that gun was so accurate. What is the muzzle velocity of your rounds?

200 gr Hornady SST's out of the 8 3/8" variable twist barrel are around 2200 fps, it could probably improve if i would spend more time shooting it. I can't consistently group that well, those are my best results. At 50 yards off the rest i have had all the bullets touching, but I can't do it repeatedly. That gun works on your nerves, the muzzle blast is horrendous. That is probably the most accurate long range pistol on the planet, but it takes a tremendous amount of control to make it happen.

You'd have a much better MOA if you used reloads ya know. That way you could figure out what seating depth, how much powder, and which bullet worked best for your specific pistol. Factory loads are just plain inconsistant. I never realized how bad before until I got into reloading. My less than 1" MOA with my AR10 are with reloads. Nothing like having the holes touching at 100yds. People pay high dollar for custom rifles to get that accuracy... I just got luck with mine!
