Anyone know of a device that would flash to alert you when someone tries to call you on your designated channel? We like to keep our radios on and mounted on the handlebars/rack. Probelm is that when riding around we cannot tell if someone is calling or not untill we stop and look. Sound can be turned all the way up.
The only thing I would suggest, since I don't know if something like that exists, would be to get an earpiece for the radio. I got an earpiece/mic for my Rino 520 I wear under my helmet when riding with it. Its loud enough for me to hear and the mic is sound activated so I don't have to mess with the Rino to talk back. I got the gain set so the background atv sound in the helmet isn't loud enough to set off the mike.

I did find the midland 18-STR flasher that appears to use the external speaker port to flash a red LED. I have an email out to see if that would work on other radio's too. Granted what kills me is that the perfect solution appears to be a marine radio due to it having GPS, waterproof, and etc yet does not do GMRS/FRS. Reminds me of the good old CB in the car days.
