This is a discussion on Roler fairlead with synthetic rope? within the Grizzly Accessories forums, part of the Grizzly Forums category; Do y'all use a roller fairlead with a synthetic rope winch? Looks to me like it would help with off-angle pulling, but not sure....
Final verdict was that the roller is mainly for cable and the hause is mainly for the synth.
If you are ever replacing your cable for synth, you MUST also replace the roller/hawse.
That being said, you can use your cable OR synth with a roller and you will not pinch or catch the cable or synth. However using the cable with the hause will dig up the hause pretty quickly.

If you have used your roller fairleads with cable, the roller will have in-perfections in them. Then if you switch to synthetic rope, the used rollers will damage your rope. So if you want to use roller fairleads with synthetic rope, the rollers need to be new.
There has been some issues with the synthetic rope getting pinch in the corners of the rollers. That is why most say to use a new un damaged hawse with the rope. Motoalliance includes on with their synthetic rope kit.
Another option is BlitzKrueg Products. They have a Synthetic roller fairlead specifically designed for synthetic ropes. Either the complete fairlead or replacement rollers.
