I'm starting to think that not getting a winch with the bike when I purchased it wasn't the brightest idea I've ever had. Now I've came to the conclusion that I do indeed need a winch, especially being I do a lot of riding by myself. Cash is a bit on the tight side for the time being and I'm saving for a set of skid plates. Therefore, I can only afford to put so much into a winch for the time being.

Recommendations for a cheaper but worthy winch would be greatly appreciated!

Costco sells a winch that works great only its a little noisy, here in Canada it costs about 100$ not even, made by champion.

Hey There,

ebay has a slew of them, search grizzly 700 on ebay, you will find extreme, venom, gorilla, max, and of course warn. They all claim to be good comparible winches to warn. When I first looked into the winch ordeal, I asked about the venon 3000 winches. Some people liked them some people didnt. I guess what counts is will they stand behind their products? Also, what is the warranty if you fully submerge the winch? Most manufactures say there stuff is waterproof, but I dont know about the submereged warranty aspect of it. Good luck, and let us know what you pick out, and how it performs...

Well, I have a warn 2.5 winch that came with mine when I bought it. I bought GearSlayer's Warn 4.0 with the quick connect system (very nice!). I have the winch with the mounting plate, but I kept and reused the wiring. Shoot me a pm with an offer.
