Harbor Freights Badland winch

I know I will probably catch some grief on such a cheap winch but all I really need it for is to raise a snow plow up and down. I can get the 2000lb for $49. Does anyone have one of these? It will be going on a Grizzly 660.

The worst time i got stuck was during a easy ride during winter... I broke through ice in a water holes that I never knew about... Fortunatly I wasn't to far from home... Thats why I said "one day you'll get stuck" and in my opinion, you beter get a good winch
That said, thats up to you

re badland winch

I just instaled 3000 lb. badland on my 2011 450 griz. and it is A1. realy quiet and pulls realy strong. Only 140.00$ to my door with every thing in box including the mounting plate I have a polaris 35000 lb. on my 550 touring and it cost 500.00 plus, and it's not as good. Dam thing only works halve the time and sounds like hell tharashing rats. GOOD LUCK RED.

I have the badlands 3000. It works fine, its been over a year with no problems (Knock on wood). You have to read the Manual VERY CAREFULLY! (the Manual is on the harbor freight Site) The Manuel reads:

2,000lb winch: Resistant to water jets

3,000lb winch: except remote switch, resistant to immersion up to 3′

5,000lb winch: except remote switch, resistant to powerful water jets

I think that's part of the reason why people have so much trouble with these. The winch also comes with a circuit breaker, you don't have to use it, but i would recommend you do.
