Is anyone running the yamaha rear cargo box on their 700? I wanted to see some better pics of it installed than the ones on the Yamaha site. I heard that the rear rack is taken off when you mount this box giving it a really good mount. Is this true, just interested in it and what you guys think about it. Thanks in advance.

bigaustino, this is the best pic i have. you do have to remove the rack, then it bolts to the rack rails and the fenders.do you already have one? are you thinking of buying one? if so pm me i'm thinking of getting a Tamarak Lounger so i'll probably sell mine if your interested.

i dont have any pics but my outdoorsman 700 came with it on it.all and all it nice to have it makes a good back rest for a second rider if he or she is on the small side. My only rant about it is mine isnt waterproof.sure i could make it that way but i shouldnt have to.

My DU bike came with one. I am not real impressed with it. Its not water proof, doesnt have dividers to keep things from moving around. I think there are much better boxes outthere for less then the Yammy box. I am leaving tonight for Hatfield McCoy and I took off the yammy box and put the rack back on with a zipperless Tamerack bag.

I'm with CJ on this one... I took mine off as well... It would have been a lot better if it was water proof and padded... I've got some pics of it in my grizzly garage...

well I also ordered one, installed it , really didnt like the whole idea of removing the rack, but I did. I wasn't impressed at all !! The overall fit was very poor, by fit I mean how the lid sealed , you could almost see a gap between the top and bottom alum seal when it was closed. Water for sure would get in and dust could very easily get in. Plus I'm sure in time those rubber straps would break, dry rot, ya get the idea. Not worth that kind of cash.
So I packed it up , sent it back , for a full refund. I now put a $30 stanley "fat max" toolbox, which has a water tight rubber seal built in..:) and have had noooo problem with it...jmho

Yes, they leak...but very minor dust and water gets in....unless you swamp the darn thing. The rubber latches are very durable and I can see them lasting the lifetime of the Grizz. The box bolts up very nicely. I don't like how its too open inside with no cushion but that is easly fixed up with my Sweatshirt/jacket and rain gear that I take with me. There is a very nice spot in the middle for a small cooler, which is very nice....other then that, there is lots of room, just make sure you fill it up with stuff or things will be bouncing all over the place...made that mistake once...only once.

Just got my box installed and rode about 70 miles with it. I really like how well it fits and flows with the lines of the quad. I went though some mud and it rained all day, and my clothes and other stuff stayed dry. I am happy with this purchase.
