Front wheel bearing help

Can someone tell me how many bearings go to each front tire on a 02 660 Grizzly. I have alot of up and down play on the tire and need to change out the bearings I guess. Also does anyone know where a good write up is on how to do it. Thanks

I just started changing mine 2nite and hit a roadblock on the first wheel. Tried to push out the bearings and had the hub in a hydraulic press. Ran it upo to 12000 lbs and neuther bearing will budge. I stopped cuz I was afraid the hub was gonna break. Gonna let it soak til 2morro and try again. Hope I can get it back together cuz snow's on the way.

Hey dustcloud, good thing you quit at 12,000 lbs
They can't be pushed out with a hydralic press. There is a ridge in the middle. You have to push one bearing out of one hole, turn it over and push the other one out of the other hole. Use a drift, cold chisel or big screwdriver and a hammer.

Yeah I thought that, thats y I was only pushin on the bottom one. 2 chisels angled into the bearing against the head of the press. No go. Kinda thought the bearing would come apart or somethin would happen but nothing. 4500 miles of mud, water and abuse. Hope soaking overnight helps. I'm only on the first one too, uuuggghhh.

Yup, you might have to try some high heat next, good luck. I had to use oxy/acet a few times.

i just changed the front bearings on my 02 grizz. they were a pain. becareful of theridge in the hub that the bearings seat into. i bent mine all up and had to do some work to get the new beaings o seat again. i almost had to get a new hub. try popping the inner race out and then work at the outter it will be a little easier.

I hate trying to press out bearings. I just take them to a local shop and pay them to press them out and put the new ones in for 10 bucks.

You were lucky to get 4500 miles out of them! I had to do my front bearings at 2000 but my back ones are still like new.
