Differential Fluid

Someone suggested using Mobile One 75-90 synthetic gear lube which is an API GL5 lubricant. My owners manual calls out SAE 80 API GL4 hypoid gear lube. After doing some research, gear lube is not like brake fluid where DOT 4 covers DOT 2 and 3 standards. Is there a special Mobile One available? Any other suggestions?

I just changed both the front and rear fluids, used SAE 80 API GL4 hypoid gear lube for both front and back, think it was a castrol brand

I suggest running what the manufacturer says run although brand name is up to you. I run all Amsoil in my quad. I just found the Amsoil equivalent to the Yamaha differential fluid and ran that.

Just run any quality GL4 gear oil waste of money for GL5 in this application.Don't over fill (easy to do) or you will have smelly gear coming out your diff vents

I use Lucas 75w90 gear oil in mine, front and rear. It works well so far!
