This is a discussion on 660 fuel gauge. within the Grizzly Electrical & Lighting forums, part of the Grizzly Forums category; Hey guys just got my 02 grizzly and i want to get my fuel gauge working. If its empty or full the gauge says empty. ...
Should be the same as my 05. I had the same problem. Take off your gas tank cover and on the tank you will see a couple wires and connector that plugs into the tank. Take the connector out and remove the bolts to that sending unit and pull it out of the gastank. That unit with the electronic sensors on it has to be replaced. It was pretty cheap as I remember. $15-20.
Ill have to check mine out. Noticed last time I went riding my tank said E but there was still plenty of gas left in it. Thanks

Mine's been reading bad since I bought it 1000 miles ago. It'll read full when it is completely full, but only a few miles of riding later it's on E. I figured that the fix would have been in the pod, so I haven't bothered with it, but maybe after reading wayupnorth's reply, I'll dig into it a bit.
Up to this point, I've just made it a habit to visually check the level in the tank each time I take a break during a ride.

I took my 02 in to my Yami dealer to have the valves adj. and carb cleaned and when I got it back the fuel gauge was doing the same thing. I call my dealer and they said their was two seperate sensors one was $25 the other over $100. I haven't checked it out to see which one is bad and I'm not done hashing it out over the fact that it worked fine before they touch it.
I know there are not 2 seperate sensors on the 05s. Never looked on a 02s. On the 05 the entire unit that goes into the tank is what I replaced for $20. Now maybe it's a two part unit on the 02s, possible. I highly doubt there are two seperate entry points into the gas tank for 2 sensors.
Also 10 point hunter, they had to remove your gas tank to check valves and clean the carb, so it's possible the connection to the sensor wasn't plugged back in securely or was left hanging. Check it and dielectric grease it.
