Hey everyone first time on here awsome site. well now to the point

I just went out for a ride tonight on my 07 griz 700 and as i was coming down a hill my power steering went out of control left to right at a wicked pace and it took all i had to keep myself on the machine. Never had this happen before but it happend twice tonight. Anyone have any suggestions on what the problem could be. I checked for the obvious sticks, rocks, mud ect.... but could not see anything and i did not go through any deep water???? any sugestions would be great thanx alot.

I have an 07 700 Grizz and one time my steering went crazy also...I lost my mind trying to find out how and why...it hapened for a couple of rides, come to find out there was a pin size hole in my cv boot, all the grease had been pushed out..water and mud got in and was seazing the bearings...If I had kept riding it I would have caused some real damage. It only cost me a new boot install...(check those boots very well

I had the very same problem after playing around in some mud. It went away after I hosed it down. Just a side note i've had nothing but problems with my eps. It works when it wants to, no matter what I do to it.

hey Thanks for the message i havent been on here for a cuple weeks but ya thats exactly what it was small hole in one of the boots that seazed the bearing and unfortunatly didn't catch it in time so threw in a new bearing and everything is great.

Thanks every for your input i was just stuborn and thought i new everything well i will be the first to admit that i should consider everything and learn how to trouble shoot abit better. And for every one yes it was a wheel bearing that was seazing NOT the power steering. after the replacment everything has been running great.

from the rookie who thinks he knows it all

the EPS unit is conected to the handel bars through a coupler, then upper steering stem, bolted on right by the pod, and last is the bars them self. i didnt seee much therir that could fail. coupr could be loose/striped----- maybe sure was tight to pound off.

my bike has done it a couple of times and let me tell you its scary i ride fast and it isnt tie rods i know it has to be something with the eps because i i dont go in deep water or mud it never has done it but if i do i will jerk you to the right and it is really hard to turn back i dont know why it does it it sucks tho but if i dont go through water or mud itworks well
