Grizzly and Kodiak lose 10km/h top speed...

Hey there guys. Both my 07 Kodiak 450 and Grizzly 700 have lost about 10km/h off of the top end. The 700 only gets up to about 86 no where as it used to get up to 98. The 450 has 26" tires and the 700 27" tires. The tires have been on the bikes for over a year and the speed decrease did not happen with the tires. More slowly over time.

The only other think I can think to mention is both bikes are running on Amsoil 10W40 oil.

Any ideas on what to check guys? Neither bikes have really been in deep water or in the mud much.

Thanks.

Amsoil motorcycle/ powersports oil, or just normal amsoil?

Motorcycle/powersports amsoil is for wet clutches (both your bikes have a wet clutch)

You don't say how many miles/kms are on the bikes. May just need primary cleaned and regreased and check if the belt is still in spec.

Amsoil 10W40 motosports for the wet clutch. 700 is 1500km and the 450 is maybe 1000km.

2 months ago they had a full service with new air filters and the such but I will still check them as well. Never hurts to start simple.

Never thought of cleaning out and re-greasing though. Might look into that.

Thanks.
