Exclamation grizzly 700 slipping

i had a little accident with my griz over the weekend i was crossing a river and it got deeper than i thought, needless to say i sank her and hydrolocked the motor, i towed it home and imediatley took it apart and drained the oil and took the filter off, i had a couple of filters on my shelf but all i had for oil was penzoil 5w30 full synthetic, i changed the oil three times with this oil just trying to get it flushed out then i read latter that night that some synthetic oils are bad for the clutch and needless to say now its slipping like crazy i don't think its the belt i pulled the drain plug on the clutch cover and drained the water out, any body have this happen to them any suggestions would be app, my next step is to pull the clutch cover off and check the belt.

my bet is you used an oil not approved for wet clutch. Change it with one that is Jaso MA certified

i currently have ams oil 10w40 motorcycle oil in it, that was given to me by the dealer but i am going to get some yama lube at another dealer tommorow and try that, as for how much water was in the clutch cover there was a decent amount in it, it was submerged underwater over the handle grips for a few seconds

do some clutch maintenance as in clean and regrease the rollers and scuff up the sheaves with scotch brite. sounds like the clutch got some dirt in it.

X2 on what mike said you do want to go in belt area and clean up everything. It's gets that out of way and then you can find out if it actually is the wet clutch! Good luck.
