ok iam going with the 10-w40 Valvolline 4-stroke atv motor oil and i was thinking about oil filters Mobil: 1 M1-110 & K&N but i was wondering about the serial numbers for k&n,and the weather up here is almost moving into the spring,is the oil ok to use when its kinda cold to warm and maybe to hot?
Ya these yamaha atvs all use the same filters. Funny you should mention 10-40 Valvoline 4 stroke atv oil. I'm working on someone elses atv and went to put new oil in yesterday. The valvoline was sitting in the garage at 10 degrees all week and when I pored it in it was almost like honey. Pretty thick for a 10-40 I thought. I use 0-40 amsoil. But it's spring that 10-40 will work fine, probably work great all year round, just relaying what I saw yesterday.
