One wheel spinning

My friend has a 2007 Grizzly 700. Today I took it out and noticed it kept pulling to the right. Turns out the left rear wheel is only spinning in 2wd mode. Same thing in 4wd, only 3 wheels spin.
Is this a diff lock issue? Am I stuck in a certain gear setting? Any easy way out of this? thanks ..

Doesn't sound like a easy fix. You must have something stripped in the rear diff or maybe the splines on the rear hub or axle. Have you tried to jack the rear end up and see if both wheels spin when there is no pressure on it. Something is not right. You should never have just one rear wheel spinning. Let us know what you find.

The rear end is always locked. There is a few things that cause this.

Broken rear axle bar, broken rear CV (inner or outer), stripped diff, broken diff, stipped wheel hub.

Im gonna lean towards a broken rear cv, or axle. Grab the rear axle bar (if not busted), and pull it back and forth. if it moves a fair amount then its the axle.

And like stated, id lift the bike, and both turn with no pressure. It might be a strip issue.

thanks guys, I checked it out again and it looked as if something was leaking from the cv boot. I'm going riding this weekend. Would it be really bad to drive it around? I would probably have in 4x4 most of the time. I gave it a test earlier and it wasn't so bad. just pulled to the right a little. I'm not going to be riding crazy, just putting around on some trails.

If in guts of the CV joint blew up, then yes. If the cup is still good, it wont be after weekend riding. Thus making you order a whole joint, instead of an aftermarket CV. If the cup is cracked, then you risk damaging the other joint, if the axle bar falls out of the cup, then the angle on the exisiting cv will be great, and if the bar gets caught up in the a-arm or something, it can spell disaster. I wouldnt ride. Since you would need to leave both cups in. The inner to protect the diff from mud. The outter to hold the hub on. So if either cup is good, its gonna get full of crap, marked up, and just not a good idea.
