I used the grunt kit on my 660. I installed 4 weights and the shim. I got back some low end power and really didn't lose any top end speed. Install was easy and I am happy with it overall.

Your set-up sounds close to mine, '08 660 w/ 26" mudlite XL's on ITP rims. I'm thinking about getting the kit to get more lowend power. Thanks for the feedback.

I also have the kit installed on my 660 - love it!

Install was easy - just make sure you have a 22mm deepwell socket and a large strap wrench or clutch debarring tool to hold the primary sheave while removing and reinstalling the lock nut. You will also need a good torque wrench - nut is torqued at 75 ft.lbs.

Good Luck!

i have the torque monster kit installed. the only thing that threw me for a loop was having to re-use the plastic sheath's off the stock weights. very simple to do with a sharp razor blade, then pressing them in using the sockets as mentioned in the instructions..

i have not ridden it since i did the swap. but I did all 8 with the aluminum weights.

i should have time this weekend to get out and ride.
