Snorkeling a grizzly 700

I have a grizzly 700 and am thinking about snorkeling it, ive never snorkeled a atv before and was wondering do you have to silicone the air box cover on so it don't leak or will the cover gasket keep it water tight? Ive read alot of the snorkel forums on here, but never found anything about the air box lid.

I've never put silicone on the airbox lid, but I did add a small amount of marine grease along the gasket just for additional measures.

I use silicone grease(clear die-electric grease) on my gasket, the instructions that came with my snorkel kit said to silicone it, but that is stupid!

I didnt silicone mine either. I didnt use grease or anything else and so far so good. The grease doesnt sound like a bad idea though for added security.

I didnt silicone mine but it does let in a little bit of water. I drain maybe a cup out every now and then
But i spend A LOT of time in DEEP water so if you're just in it every now and then you probably wont get any water in yours at all
