Thinking about buying this kit.
Has anyone purcahsed the performance atv snorkel kit? If you have how well does it breathe and does the plastic from in front of the pod that is shown in the picture with holes already cut come with it, or is that just there to make it look more appealing.

HMM, I'm not sure.
Nice find though. That looks like a well thought out kit.
I may have to investigate this more. (insert evil, sinister laugh)

looks as if you still have to mod your air box cover to fit their adapter.but looks nice I would like to see a pic of it installed.

I'll be sure and post pics when it's installed, but I haven't ordered it yet.

In the 3rd picture it looks exactly like oil field vacuum hose! Thats tough stuff, got steel cords ran through the rubber, very hard to bend, but very very durable.

I cant get it to open. But I honestly would never buy a kit. Now with that said, I have a plastic welder from ebay, so airbox mods etc are very easy with this. And snorkeling is very easy.
Now if its the oilfield vac hose, i wouldnt use it. I have PVC water Suction line (very similar), and its a pain to use, and a pain to get at airfilter. Im changing it out for rubber industrial vac hose. For more user friendly service. But thats my 2 cents.

It says it 's marine exhaust hose. I don't know how flexible it is but, the fact that it's rated for very high temperatures sounds like a plus to me, and I'm really only buying a kit out of laziness and because of the extra body plastic that seems to come with it.

at $275.00, I like mine just fine which I did for around $80.00 I guess if you have the money this would be fine. Me, I like saving money whenever possible. Too many good write-ups on how to do this yourself for me. It is a nice kit. and the pre drilled piece you are referring to is only about $15.00 to replace if you drill your own.

I haven't quite made up my mind yet. I figured with a kit I wouldn't have as much to worry about with leaks since most of it is pre-assembled, and yea it is pretty expensive, but still alot less than a motor.
Where would be a good place to order that plastic, I may just do that. I've bee thinking about snorkeling it for awhile and have really wanted to do it something like the 'mud pro". My idea was to get some PVC board or 1/2" PVC sheet and cut/glue it into one stack then paint to match the blue plastics.

I wouldnt try and glue the PVC. Wont hold up, and paint will flake. Id suggest doing it in alluminum. Or get some colored plastic, or just black to match the black center on the bike, and get a plastic welder off ebay. They are awsome. I have cracked footwells etc. Instead of the $120 a side (im in canada) to replace i welded it, and it costs me maybe $1 in rod, and 30 mins of my time to take it off, grind it, weld it, clean up with dremel, re-install

Those look nice. But I wouldnt cut my fender when you can go through the hood of a cheap part.

You will think otherwise when youre trying to get those pipes under the hood an realize how little space you have to work with, plus it being in the way of your battery an electronics.

Show me anyone else who has done dual 2" lines for the intake box, and dual 2" lines for the CVT.

I bought the plastic welder for around $200 CDN off ebay.
5600HT Mini Weld Model 6 Airless Plastic Welder Kit - eBay (item 220394299546 end time Jul-10-09 10:50:15 PDT)
That is the same one I bought. But not from that person, thats just the first one to pop up on ebay.
Now you might think $200 is a fair amount. But when I bought mine, I had two broken wheel wells. So it was cheaper for me to buy this welder, then it was to buy the two wheel wells. Im in canada, so I dont have cheap parts stores online, and by time I pay the exchange, duties, taxes, and shipping from the US. Its saving me only a few dollars over ordering local. And by a few I mean most times less than $15. So its better for me to order local, have it faster, have no issues with not getting parts correct. And every once in a while I get a deal on parts that makes it cheaper.
