While there is no replacement for displacement the 500cc range quads are still the majority of all ATV sales nationwide. The 550 should be more than enough to do anything you would ever want to do. It is really a matter of personal choice. Good luck!

Follow your instinct! You are the only one that knows how you ride and how you'll use the Grizzly. Test ride the 550 and make sure your convinced. If not, go for the 700!
Good luck

Good thread.. Reinforced my desire to find a good used 660 or wait a little bit and get a new 550 with the EPS and FI. If end up with a used 660, I'd like to get my wife a 550 with the EPS. If I get a 550, its a good excuse for me to go back and get a 700 once she commandeers it! : )

With cars one can research prices and sort of go into a dealership "armed" and ready to talk price. Any good sites / info / tips on dealing with the dealer on ATVs?

Thanks for your advice guys, i looked into a trade off at the dealership, the sales guy offeres my 4500 bucks! i laughed at him,i said its 2 months old with power steering? cya. but im gonna probably hang on to it for a year then go 700 se love the red armored! but if any body wants to trade?? let me know lol,,,and power steering is the best! i drove my buddys polaris 800 with no power steering and what a HUGE difference! with the eps you can cruise all day and not feel tired, especially climbing the steep rocky hills we have out here,,and forget about going 80mph (unless your on a big lake) out here, your lucky to hit 30 on my trails,,but there a blast!

Ive got both of them, 700 to play on, 550 to work on, The 550 is almost as quick as the 700, the only time I can notice a difference in them is when I hook onto something. The 700 out pulls it.

I have a 550 and love it. I drove both when I bought mine and the 700 wasn't worth $1,200 more to me. It definetly has more low end but mid range and top end power felt similar.

I have to agree with scooter, rip the decals off and no one will tell the difference. I was doing a lot of research before i bought mine and all said and done i could not justify the difference between a 550/700 other than the money. A lot of guys will say the same. Thats just my opinion. Good Luck!!!

550!!

Exactly, If you pin a 550 on asphalt it just goes. If you pin the 700 on asphalt it goes and lifts the front tires at the same time.

I Bought the 700 because I have never owned or driven anything with too much power! I can always ease up on the throttle if I want to pretend I have a 550! Oh and my Grizz only tops out at 69 on the pavement.

I went back to the dealership to look around again. I hate to disappoint you guys, but I am now considering a YFZ450r SE.

Whatever floats your boat, sometimes I think more people need one like that instead of a utility ATV.
