I am looking at a friends 2000 Grizzly. They have used it on a farm since new. It has about 1500 miles. Never had issues and had routine maintenance done it's whole life. I can buy it for $2500.
I am not too familliar with the Grizzy. Actually been looking at a 1999 Honda Foreman S 400, I heard they are bullet proof.
But now I need some advice... Any help would be great.

Look around before you buy!
If you want it, shoot them an offer more consistent with JHFWIC's posted price ranges.
By the way, I would never buy a big item from a friend or relative, that's just me. But atleast you know this Grizz.
