Hey fellas, I've got a few ideas for the next items that I'll be installing on the grizz in the coming months and just wanted to see if ppl who probably know more than I do about it will agree w/ my new mod list. I'm thinkin' that I want to go w/ some 30" mudlites (general purposes only, little mud, trail, etc plus just to look big and good). Also, going w/ a gorilla stageone lift, gorilla axles, and some elka shocks. I want a good ride, little extra height to clear the tires and for lite mud duty, plus durability of the new axles for any other everyday farm work or pulling I may do with it.
I've already beefed the motor w/ a lid, programmer, pipe, clutch kit and it runs like mad! I love it! I want a good, big build that will be dependable, comfortable, and last a long time. Thoughts???

Personally, unless you do alot of mud, i wouldnt go too big of a tire or lift. Once you lift it and put big tires on it, you loose alot of trail handling. I dont know exactly how your trail conditions are, but on mine if i were to run a lift or big tires, i would for sure end up tipping.

If your not a hardcore mudder why do you need 30'' tires and a lift? I'd say for your needs maybe some 27" tires at most would be fine. A lift is only going to make it more tippy, and those big tires will really cause things to break. If you want tires that look big I'd suggest some 14" rim ones.

It "runs like mad" now, but after the 30s it will be slowin down. Go 27s with no lift. If you want a "big tire" look, go with 12" wheels, this will make the sidewalls taller, making them look like much bigger tires than the 27s on 14s everyone seems to be running. Remember, almost anything you do to make it better at something, will make it worse at something else.
Just trying to help..

I would think 30" tires would be overkill. You can have all the ground clearance in the world, but if you can't turn your tires when you are in a mud hole you are as good as stuck. My machine has 13" of clearance under the rear diff with nothing but 26" mudlight xtr's. I'm still trying to get the power back I lost with 26" tires. I can't imagine 30's!!!!

Hmmmmmmmmmm you guys do make some good points. I forgot to tell you that I'm already running ITP SS212's 12" wheels and 28" mudlites already. I want to go bigger for some of the holes that are on our trails. Also, I was hoping the gorilla axles would take care of any breakage that may occur under load (I do have some thumb control though). Turning the tires shouldn't be a problem but the tipping is something I have not thought about. The lift I had on my old wheeler was a pretty crappy setup but it worked well enough for our trails and holes. I thought this would be a good combo for all around stuff but I didn't get ANY LOVE at all!
I appreciate the thoughts guys! Those were exactly what I was looking for! Any more thoughts or ideas are welcome!!!
