New 2017 Purchase question

Hey guys and gals, been awhile since I've been on the site, but I'll cut to the chase I'm in the works of getting me another Grizzly 700 from the same dealer that I purchased my 12 from go figure even after speaking with numerous dealers none could match the price I was quoted for a 700 green w/eps and all state title tax and registration included and as an added bonus throwing in a free winch all for $9,800 out the door and I had my pick of choosing a quad on the showroom floor or ordering a new one from the factory and having the assemble at the same price. I just would like to know am I getting the best deal? I sure do feel like I am and more so after they faxed everything to my credit union with the sales sheet at $9800. What are everyone's thoughts.

You need to state exactly where this is? What State and County?
The reason for this is everyone is different. What is a good price in one area, is not in another.

Additionally, that may be great price in your area, and you'll still get someone state the price is too high and they got a better deal than that (or their brother, uncle, Dad, whatever....did). Those are isolated cases and should not be considered as they are "right place, right time" moments.....not the norm.

In my opinion, you have already answered your own question. Since you said you have already called around to different dealers and none would match that specific dealers price, then by the process of elimination, your getting the best price....BUT....are you getting the best deal? There is a difference.
What is the reputation of the dealer? Does the dealer offer good service after the sale? Do they have good mechanics and have a constant inventory of parts in stock (haven't got order everything)?
These questions are the ones you need to ask. These are way more important items than saving a couple hundred bucks. If that specific dealer has a horrible reputation, then you are not getting a good deal. Best price....but bad deal.

Well dezz you do have a point there I'm located in New Mexico and I've purchased before from this dealer when I got my 12 it's a family owned dealership dealt directly with the manager (owners grandson) and he is a really nice guy always willing to help out even called me up a few times after purchase years down the line to see how the bike was running. So I guess you're right I did answer my own question haha guess I just needed a little pep talk haha. Stay tuned for pics then will be ordering a new grizz from the factory on Tuesday since they are closed till Monday

I got mine in Grand Junction, CO, so depending on where you live in NM, maybe not all that far. Still some 2016s around, identical to the 2017s. I got an LE for 9 grand plus $89 dealer prep. Taxes are always based on your location, not the dealers. For 8,500, EPS units are still available. Funny, they still want 9 grand for a camo non-EPS unit. You'd really have to love camo for that price. For the same price I paid, I also got EPS, alloy wheels, quick-release Canadian Fairing, Heated Grips & thumb throttle, heated seat cover, trailer hitch plus the ugly red paint. At the price point I couldn't pass on all the accessories, despite not being my preferred color. If you can find a 2016, it will be the better deal.

Just purchased, give me some time and this list will get much longer. Best mod here is the San Juan Mountains!

Telluride- The color will grow on you, plus it's harder to be taken for a Elk during hunting season, especially in your neck of the woods. Lol.

I do like the muted colors more, but I agree that being seen is also functional as well. I rode an XR-400, so I guess red's just my color. Plus when it's rainy and cold, the heated grips/throttle and fairing will make me happy I didn't get a blue or green.

The fairing sold on the LEs is only available on this model, but not in the US as a Yamaha accessory. From what I can tell, they are available as a Canadian accessory only. If you look at the LE, you'll see what it is. It can be uninstalled and reinstalled in a few seconds. I don't like the look or having to look through a windscreen, so I won't ride with it when it is nice, but when it's cold, I'll be happy to have it.

I guess the other thing that is a hold-over for me from my dirt bike days is team colors. Everyone knows what you're riding from a distance.

I paid 10,000 out the door for my 17 with EPS. That included the winch, 2" receiver and rack bag. I was happy with my price. I am in Ohio. Hope that helps.

I paid 8,300 EUR (8,900 USD) for a 2017 Grizzly 700 EPS in green. On top of that 1,420 USD in vehicle tax, 695 transport, 545 assembly, 470 for the kit for 2 passengers and documents and 290 for the rear cargo box and 2,300 VAT. So 14,620.

Sorry to be off topic but what did the kit include? And it is something offered by Yamaha or some other manufacturer?

In the past it used to be just a set of footrests for the second passanger and then some paperwork. Now it is just the paperwork but every dealer calls it 'kit'. So basically you pay and then you are allowed to ride with 2 people (even on regular roads).

Anyway you need a homologation kit to be allowed to ride on regular roads, this includes blinkers, mirrors and catadioptric reflectors (also lights, but they come as standard with all ATVs), so for just a little extra you get the second passenger homologation.

I am from Spain and here an ATV is a "special vehicle" like a tractor, a harvester or a crane.

It's funny how they plaster all over the ATV and in big bold letters in the owners manual "no passengers" and warnings of death and what not.
But just pay the right fee and ....tadaaaa ... same exact machine becomes two up capable and legal.
