Air filter Oil

Hi everyone,
Just curious, What brand of air filter spray on oil does everyone use on their stock filter. Also do you oil up both sides or just the outer side.
This place rocks for grizzly info. Thanks.

I use NoToil.

I'm also using a 2 stage slip on air filter so I oil the outer coarse foam lightly, the innner foam a little more. Too much oil on either and it won't breathe.

I run a K&N with the outerware...the kit comes with cleaner and a spray bottle of K&N oil to reoil the filter when you clean it...Who actually make the oil ???probably the man that make it for everyone else..IDK

I run a K&N filter now and bought there cleaning and oiling kit but for all my other filers I use Bellray filter oil.

Most guys make the mistake of puting on too much oil. If you have filter oil in the bottom of your airbox that means you're one of those guys.

Thanks, I have the stock filter for now, and using K&N oil on it. Plan to add the K&N filter soon. I just didn't think oil getting past the screen and into the intake could be a good thing.

You should not be using a spray on K&N oil on a foam air filter!!!! It's way too thin! You need "foam filter oil" that you pour onto the filter and work it into the filter and then squeeze out the excess oil. Foam filter oil is very tacky!!

ok thanks for that. I'll have a word with the guys that sold me the other saying it was fine for foam filters.

someone needs to tell the guys at yamaha this. the clear drain tube on my airbox was full and i had oil in my box.

Yamalube makes a good air filter oil. It comes in a small black bottle and it's blue colored. I've used PJ1, no-toil and bel-ray but found the yamalube was just as good, cheaper and covered more than the others.

are you supost to have mesh on top and boyyom of filter?mine is a 2010 and it only has mesh on bottom.is this right?

That is right. A lot of people cut holes in the mesh to allow more air through. Search here for screen mod and you'll see lots a different ways to do it.
