I had a torn boot on my 660 and also had a cv joint getting a bit crunchy, so I replaced them both. I got the parts from cv restoration, along with the budget clamp tightening tool. It didnt come with any instructions at all, and while I have a general idea of how it has to work, I was wondering if anyone had any tips or pics to make the process clearer.

Thanks, Brian

No pics,,, but the last set I did I used a pair of needle nose vise grips to squeze the big clamp together and a flat head screwdriver to push the end down after they clicked together. For the small clamp I used a pair of end snips to squeze together the clamps and a small hammer to flatten it back out. there is another clamp that sometimes is used and a special tool is best to use because it grabs the end of the clamp and you wind it up till tight and fold it over....

Yeah, I knew how to do the factory bands, but I got the ones that use that little tool. I looked on their sister site thecvman.com and found how the tool works. It was quite simple after seeing a couple pics. I actually prefer how the factory bands are after seeing them both in person, they're not near as bulky. From now on, I'll stick with those.

Thanks for your reply.
