There is no perfect tire which everyone will agree with. I would suggest the maxxis zilla. They are light, deliver excellent cornering/braking/acceleration, and will pull you through some serious mud. They are six ply and are very durable. Absolutely no complaints here with the zillas. Recommend about 28's as based on your question, you like more trail over mud.

The more that you learn about tires, the more complex this answer becomes. I would be considering a radial then a tread pattern to suit my degree of mudding.

Every one will have a different opion. I like my xtrs got about 2000 miles on them and i have two plugs witch for the trails I ride that is very good.I ride with guys all tire types. They are not a true mud tire but they perform well .I really like how they ride on trails.

Save your money for the new Outlaw 2. Imagine a Silverback and Outlaw mix. By the time my Lites wear out they should be in production.

I like my mud bugs really well.. They are a pretty good trail tire, light weight, and I think perform very good in the mud.. They don't work well on slick(wet) hard packed dirt. other than that they impressed me.

Kinda hard to say with such a broad statement, but I would say look and the Radial Outlaw from Highlifter. By far one of the most advanced tires out, with it being such a capable all terrain tire.....

Your head spinning yet....lots and lots of options...you will have to decide on just how thick your mud will be and just how much you do all-terrian..other wise by two diff sets of tires...
