Hatfield McCoy Trails - Rock House

Anyone been to HM trails lately? Have any trouble with the "trail police" searching coolers or stopping people whom they thought might be having some beers on the trails..? Hearing stories on both sides of the fence and want to hear if anyone on GC could shed some light... Are they trails nazi's or is it a pretty liberal place..???? Heading there at the end of the month, so please share your stories...

Friends of mine just got back from there. He said, There was to many rocks and curves and couldn't get very far very fast. Said he wouldn't go back to that trail part of the system again. He said it was a good time but not the type of trails he likes, about lost his quad and bit the dust for good over a cliff.

Yeah rock house is a technical trail. It's basically the only trail I've ridden out there and I loved it. Both times I was there it was for 2 days each and I never saw dnr. There are a lot of trails out there.

Last fall was my first time down there and we rode Pinnacle Creek and Indian Ridge. We drank, and didn't have any problems with them. Ran into them once on the trail and they just checked that we all had stickers and let us go. Bumped into them again later that day when we were stopped drinking, but anytime we heard a a bike we'd hide the beers just in case and make it look like a snack break. We all had coolers on our bike but nobody gave them a second glance

I haven't been to Rockhouse but I've been to Pinnacle and Indian Ridge. Never got checked by anybody. However we do tend to ride on Thurs and Fri when most people are at work and the trails are clearer for faster riding.

Hey guys, for those of you that have been to Rockhouse and the Ashland area please give me some comparisons with regards to the stay. I will be bringing the SXS's on this trip and bringing my 4 year old twins. I have never been there but was sold on the Ashland area. My only thought was Gilbert looks like it would give them more to do in the evenings and more places to get food etc. Most people still say go to Ashland and ride the 3 systems connected. ANy thoughts?
