Welcome to the GC, glad to have you join us.
The 700 is a great model you will be all smiles all the time.
I'm partial to WARN always have been, with that said please do a SEARCH of the site archives and you will find several different types of units. We have Site Sponsor's who also have them that you can go to there store from the site. SEARCH button then type in a key word like: WINCH
We have a thread going with a poll in it, you can see what type of winch is being used and by how many.
Take your time and enjoy the site and the Mod'ing of you Grizzly...................

Welcome jayklaw to the site , like mentioned do a search on about any mod you want to do and you'll find it here. Take in to consideration the areas you will be riding in and then make your decision on what is needed first. Such as in rocky trail heads you might want skids first or in lots of mud maybe tires then winch etc. So it has to do a lot with the depth of your pockets and how much how soon! Good luck.
Also mention where you are from and you'll be surprised at your new neighbors and close areas to ride in near you.

Welcome to the club!

I'm going with a Viper 2500 with a synthetic rope, they are good quality from what I've read and a great price. They are also a site sponsor and you can find good deals on eBay.

Welcome from Florida. Glad that you have joined us here! You'll be amazed at all the site has to offer.
I had a Warn winch on my Jeep and loved it and it's reliability. Though, I have seen alot of positive feedback, including price difference, about the Viper.
Good luck!

Thanks everyone for the tips. I decided to go with the "Cadillac" of winches and bought a Warn XT30 with wireless controller and synthetic rope. I found a poll on what winches are being used out there and Warn is the overwhelming favorite. My next question is.... To buy a winch cover or not? A Fairly cheap investment to keep mud, grime, and water off your winch. Are there any drawbacks though????

Welcome to the jungle from Upstate New York. Plenty of info here on the site to spend days reading about the grizzly. Get to know the site, check out the search feature if your looking for something, if you can't find anything, just ask, there are plenty of people willing to throw in their two cents. Enjoy the ride and get some pics up when you can.

As for the winch, look up some threads on it, there are plenty. Alot of people will swear by the WARN, it is a known name, but IMO, I think you pay too much for the name.
