Well, I got my exhaust on yesterday. I know GEARSLAYER has already posted his sound clips, but I figured the more, the better, right?

Anyway, this is a before and after sound clip of my '07 Grizzly 700 with an HMF Swamp Series slip-on and the HMF Dobeck Optimizer tuner.

thanks guys, Gearslayer, I actually took your settings for the optimizer. You said that on hot days, you have it at 3, 3, 5, never touch, never touch. It seems to do pretty good for me at that setting. Every now and then, it will puff a little smoke. I think I might back it down a little bit. Do you think this would take care of that? I was thinking of going with like a 2.5, 2.5, 4.5, never touch, never touch. I believe you are further up north. So, me being in southern louisiana, I should probably back mine down a bit, huh?

I can't wait to get my swamp series on (thanks PAPABEAR!) I'm just waiting on my Uni filter to come in. Then I need to play the guessing game on my Dobeck GenII

I would leave the first one at 3. Maybe try the acceleration one (second one) at 2.5 and see what happens.

You can try it on the first one...just make sure you have a good idle.

Plug chops would be good to do too.

allow me to show my ignorance on the subject, but explain to me what exactly "plug chops" are? I know about the spark plug test and all, but I don't know what these are?
Thanks.

Plug Chop= Buy a few extra plugs.

Find a nice safe flat piece of land about 1/2 mile long or more.

Change out the plug. Make sure fuel settings are where the need to be.

Don helmet and protective gear.

Put bike in drive and got to wide open throttle.

Go along for a good stretch and hit the kill switch.

Pull plug and inspect. Plug should be the color of cardboard.

Repeat the process till you can get it close to that color.

Alright, thanks Onrope, I will certainly do that. It seems to miss really bad at half throttle. Is this that mid-range problem yall have talked about being emphasized by the addition of aftermarket goodies?

I have my pipe on right now, but I'm waiting for my airfilter to come in before I mess with the Dobeck settings. I hope I don't have a bad miss. : (

ANy inside scoop on the Dynatech one? I'll have 2012 Yamaha Grizzly by the time VDI get's one out the door, then I'll have 2 more years to try and work out the bugs. LOL
