I find that sometimes when in reverse it doesn't want to go into first gear. Is this normal? It does go in eventually but sometimes I have to fiddle with it for awhile.
Mine does this too,it's normal. I have found that if you are going in reverse and then stop, when you try to shift into forward and it won't go that if you just "bump" the throttle a little to move the bike just a bit that it will drop on into gear. I think that sometimes when you stop the gears aren't lined up to mesh properly and "wiggling" the bike just a bit is all you need to get them to "mesh". The Big Bear is not the only one I have owned that was like this,my Honda Rancher, and my Suzuki Ozark both did the same thing too. Don't worry about it,just get out there and be safe!!
