I call BS on the 85 MPH Warrior. That thing would have to be on nitrous, and be seriously bored/stroked, tuned and going down hill to come close to hitting 75MPH. Just not enough there for that heavy Warrior to go that fast even with the best big bore kit out there for it. Who built it, what's the bore, and who clocked him doing 85+?
I have had a Warrior since 1995, and been completely through that motor. I also have an '86 Honda TRX 250R with alot of motor work that can beat stock Banshees, and some lightly modded ones.

Until I see a radar gun showing that Warrior going 80+ MPH, I'm going to hold my BS flag up high.

Oooo, did you see that?

Well, I put a blown 454 motor with nitrous in my son's LTZ-50 frame.. that thing would scratch going into 5th gear climbing the dunes at Glamis, and then skim across water going 140mph! I was able to get about 40mpg during this as well!

ok I'm gonna sell the motor tranny and transfere case out of my 86 Ford and use the money to buy a Banshee, and was wonderin what y'all thoguht of them? I've rode a quad with more power because my dad's warrior, has beaten every stock banshee he has raced, my step bro had one, but it got stolen, and I was wonderin what y'all thought, thanks[/b]
That should be one heck of nice Banshee. Say you get top dollar for your motor and tranny out of that old '86 Ford. Your talking maybe $500-$800, tops. How much Banshee do you plan to buy?

Why not sell the doors too, then you can afford a 2009 Grizzly.

You're killing me!

no, I'll get more then that, the motor is worth atleast $500, and the tranny atleat $400, and the transfere case atleast $400, and it all works perfectly, and only has 65,000 miles on it, and your killin me, ya know even if I only got $500 out of all of that, I could still find a Banshee, they seem to sell cheap around here

It requires two of everthing for that motor = twice the price to fix than most other 2 strokes. When they run good, they are fast. They don't handle corning or jumping as well as comparable 2 strokes, for some reason they don't seem balanced front to back while in the air, the rear drops so you have to really stab the brakes in the air to level it back out. Out here in the Oregon dunes, they are used more for straight line hill climbs.

HC, for what it's worth, here's my opinion on a Banshee......I HATE THEM!

I think they are only good for one thing, going fast on a gravel or dirt road. I rode one once, way to high geared for any of the trails I ride. 1st gear would be like 4th on your Honda. You have to run em fast to keep the plugs clean, no technical riding. And, as stated earlier, you have to buy twice the parts because it is a twin cyl. Chances are good if you find one that cheap it's because the top end needs rebuilt. You have to do that on 2strokes often. I say if you want a little more power than a warrior, pick up a 400EX. They can be had cheap, and they are reliable.

Used cheap Banshee = bottomless money pit, and downright agrivating to ride in the woods.

They are not a good trail bike, but you get one in the sand and they are hard to beat!

Yamabeast makes a good point HC. Get yourself a nice used 4 stroke. You've proven that you can get years of life out of one with your Warrior's and Honda's. I know I personally would rather go out riding, than wrenching. It seems that the only things I've ever seen a Banshee do on Youtube is go fast in a straight line. Do Christine some justice and get yourself a nice reliable quad, or take the money and sink it into your grey Ford. To me going on a nice trail ride at 10 mph is more fun than going crazy fast, but thats JMHO.

I guarantee that's true! The one I rode was stock, and it was very fast.
