Lights for a YFZ50?

So I got the 6 y.o. daughter a YFZ50 for Christmas and she loves it. The problem is we end up riding until after dark and she could really use some lights.

Can anyone recommend a cheap/easy light system for a little 50cc?

I'm planning on a single cube on my daughters Outlaw 50. It has "safety lights" already that are run directly from the stator like my son's Sportsman 90. On his, we put the factory lights on a switch and then added a light bar on a separate switch. He'll run the factory lights during the day and at dusk but switches them off and the light bar on for night riding. I was told that running both would most likely overwhelm the stator and the battery wouldn't charge.

After looking at the model you're talking about, it looks identical to my daughter's outlaw 50. Look at the motor and see if it says AEON anywhere. I think Yamaha is now using them to build their youth models. The lights are real on my daughter's Outlaw. Are they on the yfz50?

Edit: I found a video on YouTube. No working lights on the yfz. And only a reflector in the rear. If the stator is the same between the Aaron and the YFZ, you should have no trouble running a cube or something. Maybe wire up a red led strobe in the rear for safety. I would bet the stator is the same. There are very minor differences between the AEON YFZ and the ARON Outlaw. Mainly the plastics.

Thanks for the info so far.

The red strobe on the rear is a great idea. The 3 year old boy has a 12v battery "Raptor" and when he follows his sister on her 50, he's always running into the back of her when she stops. A flashy red light should definitely help there. :-)

Look into the PoPo (AEON) Outlaw 50 for the boy when he's ready. I hate having something else that says Polaris in my garage but at least they got it right with the working brake light and "safety" headlights. And it's apparently the same damn machine, anyway. lol
