Problem after installing BBK/ broke water pump

03 Grizzly 660-686

I installed a 686 bbk sprayed gaskets with copper spray, new gasket kit, lapped valves/adjusted and everything went smooth, or so I thought.. Did heat/cool cycle, then went for a few trips back and forth cycling throttle, maybe 30 min. I was running about 35mph then all the sudden steam cloud.. The lid blew off the coolant bottle and it died, no temp light. When I started after there was steam out exhaust, so made me think it blew the new ebay head gasket. No visible marks of failure on the gasket when I pulled apart, although the water pump spindle (grooved slot) both them are broken off. Would the water pump alone cause steam out the exhaust? What should I be looking for?? What would cause this? I found the 2 pieces of metal out of case close to screen. Also, I had 2 new headgaskets. 1 from the gasket kit and another that came with the 102mm bbk, I couldn't really see a difference in size other than one having small holes over almost all the water jacket slots and the other looking like a regular head gasket. I used the one with the small holes where I had overheating issues in the past. I have it apart and fiddling with atm, so any info or guidance would be appreciated thx.

Did you do a leak down test on the cooling system before removing the head?
Is there a cracked cylinder or water in the oil?

What brand was the big bore kit? I did 3 headgaskets on my Niche kit before i noticed that the cylinder sleeve had slipped .030 down into the jug. They sent me another one right away, and it failed too. Still haven't pulled it apart to see why though.

No water in oil, its only going out the exhaust. I didn't actually do a pressurized leak down, but I did add gas into the valve chamber to see if any leaking. It ran before i removed the parts, just had an overheating issue. It did eventually leak some apast the valves, I lapped them again slightly with drill.

Yes it is a Niche brand bbk, I hope it will hold up..I will go out right now and check it see if the sleeve is slipping. I changed the timming chain while i had the cover off and noticed that the oil chain has a ton of play, ill post a vid and let me know if you think too much, the chain i replaced didn't seem to make much of a diff atm as I can tell.

I'm done with Niche products. Their axles are seem decent but i've had nothing but problems with their big bore kits and their wet clutches are junk. The one in my Rhino started to slip at 160 kilometers and when I took it apart to inspect it, it was falling apart.

And they're not responding to my email.
