We have 3 atv's with Motion Pro kits on them. Installed in 2003, 2005, and 2012. Next new machine will probably get a Moose Dual Gasser though. Easier to just disable the twist throttle than warn the people that aren't used to them. Most everyone in my family is used to them and those people NEVER EVER have an issue. Only issue is when they get onto one with a thumb throttle, thumb gets sore in less than a mile. But for those completely unfamiliar with them or those who rely way too much on the handlebars to support their upper body movements, we have had a couple sketchy situations happen. So we give the rookies an ample warning.
I spent about a hour today trying different throttle angle positions to see if I could find a happy place for my thumb. The more and more i think about the more and more I am thinking of getting a twist throttle myself. I have rode dirt bikes for years and I just cant seem to find a place where my thumb is happy for a 70 -100 mile day of riding. We have a three day ride coming up this weekend and I will be bringing a Phillips screw driver to change throttle angles as we ride. If I cant get a place I am happy with I will be looking at one of the twist throttles after the weekend.
Change your grips. The vibration in your hand strains the muscle and tendons in your thumb.
I run Spyder grips on my kodiak, add I did on my old Honda too. World of difference how long you can go before your thumb gets sore.

That is something i had thought about and am planning on going out this morning and getting a new set of grips. I also like the idea of the Moose Racing / Terry Grip Dual Gasser grip. That set up looks likes the best combo that I have seen. FYI, The Terry cable dual gasser is about $50. cheaper than the moose branded one.
There is another dual gas throttle on the market as well. I did not know if they were still in Biz so I sent them a message on FB, They are still in biz and I am awaiting there response on a price. This one is called Switchfly. It looks a lot more user friendly than the Dual gasser's and it locks out which ever one you are not using.
That SwitchFly looks pretty nice considering it has the lock-out feature. Only issue that I'd like to know more about is if the twist throttle has any possibility of adding a heating element for heated grips. Just doesn't seem like there would be enough space around the circumference of the added twist throttle to use something like the HeatDemon grips.
I have grip heating elements under my grips in combination with the twist throttle. It's no problem whatsoever. ATV grips come with 2 identical grips but motorcycle (mx) grips come with a standard thickness grip just like an atv grip for the left side, and the grip for the twist throttle has a slightly bigger ID with slightly thinner wall so it fits over the throttle tube. Sane overall diameter still.
So if you do the twist throttle thing, you can't use heated grips. But you can install grip heater elements under the mx grips of your choosing.
I put a Motion Pro on my sport quad (DVX400) years ago, didn't care for it and pulled it back off. I have short arms and sharp left turns made for difficult throttle control. I rode motorcycles for years both dirt and street. You lean to steer a bike with minimal input on the bars, where as a quad is all in the bars. I like CanadianKodiak700's recommendation for better grips.
Well I just talked to the guy at Switchfly. I will make a long story short. The guy is one of the original inventors but his partner lost a battle to cancer back in 2013. At that time Side by Sides were taking off and they put this throttle aside. Now the market is coming back to ATV's and he is bringing it back. Currently it is in the testing phase to make sure there is no problems with it. He has a couple of teams running the Baja 1000 with it and then a team or two running it on the HareScramble races. He hopes to have it to market later this year if all goes good.
I asked him if it would be possible to make the throttle cable plate on the switchfly to accommodate the Grizzly/Kodiak push button switchs as they are a bolt on item anyways. I sent him a few video's so he can see for his self. I would assume this will take a little bit but I am hoping this all comes together for us guys that would like one of these.
They don't list one for a 2022 Grizzly though. Throttle body from Kodiak SE to Grizzly appears to be the same, so the issue with that might be the throttle cable length being different. You might want to give Motion Pro a call.
