New Grizzly and Kodiak Pricing?

I am in the market to buy a new 2019/2020 Yamaha Grizzly or Kodiak. I am open to either one. With that said...I am really interested in the new Grizzly XT-R. I really like the options and the look.

I traveled about 4 hours to various dealers today meeting with them and getting pricing. The best pricing I was able to obtain was the following:

- 2019 Grizzly EPS Realtree Edge Camo: $9,850 OTD (including tax, fees, etc...in my truck)
- 2020 Grizzly XT-R with the works (winch, tires, etc.) $11,100 OTD (including tax, fees, etc. in my truck)
- 2019 Kodiak EPS Realtree Edge Camo: $8,701 OTD (including tax, fees, etc. in my truck) Also had another closer dealer quote me $8900 OTD for the same Kodiak.

I have been looking for a few months now and could use some input on whether or not these prices seem in-line with what is out there. I see a lot cheaper prices listed, but they do not include a bunch of additional fees, making the OTD price higher. What I liked about these dealers is they did not add any additional fees.

Any thoughts/input would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

That $11,100 is what I paid for my 19 Grizzly SE in the Spring, sounds like a good deal ( if there is such a thing). I was nearly sold on the Kodiak 700 EPS SE, until I sat on it. The rear sealed wet brake was appealing to me. But, after sitting on them both, I went with the Grizzly. I like the big feel of it, and the wider stance. The 27" Zillas on perdy 14" wheels was appealing, too. I don't regret my decision.

Prices will vary depending on where your located like west coast vs east coast etc. The Kodiak will always be cheaper so first decide which model you really want then go from there. I was in a dealership last week in Michigan and they had 2 2019 Kodiak’s Special Editions for $7459.00 plus tax & setup. And 2 2019 Grizzlies for a thousand more.

Thank you for the replies. I agree with your statement that pricing varies based on location, but in the midwest they seem fairly comparable.

The prices you quoted are inline with what I am seeing. I don't care so much about having the absolute lowest price or saving a nickel, but I do want to be sure I am not getting taken to the cleaners. So any additional feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Sounds like you did your homework so I’d say you’re not getting taken to the cleaners since those prices seem to be in line with other dealers, but if you want the 2019 Kodiak or grizzly I’d say you better jump on it pretty quick before they’re gone because they are discounted since the 2020s are out now.

I'd take the Kodiak SE for the narrower front end. More nimble.

Purchase Made

Well...after a lot of researching and digging, I finally decided on the 2019 Suzuki King Quad 750 AXI. I really would have preferred the Grizzly 700, but I was able to get the King Quad 750 for $4994, which is a downright dirty deal...

I had been watching them drop on a few dealer's websites and couldn't believe my eyes when it went that cheap. It's not EPS, but I have never had a quad with EPS, so I don't really care. It has everything else and the price was too low to ignore. It's definitely not a Grizzly, but I will see how we like it and deal with any shortcomings. I love Yamaha, but man...that is a huge price difference.

I wanted to purchase a Honda Recon for my daughter, but at this price, I am actually considering purchasing another one for the wife/daughter.

Two King Quads for a little more than the price of a Grizzly SE. Might be worth it..

That’s a crazy price hard to believe. That would be hard to pass up. Good luck

I agree and thank you for the information! So far, it reminds me a lot of my Grizzly, but I haven't had enough time to really make a determination. As I mentioned, the price is so crazy, I am seriously considering another one...

If you came here and told us that you passed on a brand new Kingquad for 5k, I'd be pretty upset with you, lol. I think you made and excellent purchase. Even if they were the same price, and you chose the Suzi, you still made a good choice. The Kingquads are great machines. Nearly came down to a coin toss for me when it came to Yamaha or Suzuki.

Wow. You stole that bike.

If you looking for a Recon, forget it. Buy another King Quad. I wouldn't even consider a Recon if I could get that deal again.

Thank you all for the replies, much appreciated. The only thing holding me back on buying a second one (other than the less than desirable look from the wife) is my daughter riding something that heavy. She is almost 17 and has been riding off and on for years, but I tend to be a little over cautious. I have ended up with my 660 Grizzly on top of me before and it was not fun. These 750's are another hundred pounds... This is why I was looking at the 250 Recon - it's a lot lighter and my two younger daughters could grow into it.

It's a tough decision...

Good point, that would make more sense.
