Beadlocks and Growlers

As expected, GC is costing me money.

12x7 STI HD Beadlocks on the way as well as 26x9 Pitbull Growler BG2.5's. Decided to go with a square setup so I can rotate tires front to rear. I also think I like the looks of the square setups I've seen. My only concern is that the 26x9s on the rear don't look too narrow. From the pics I've seen of them I think it'll be ok.

I like a square tire setup too. Pitbulls run larger so I think you'll like having the 9 inch wide on back as it won't rob as much power. I don't have pitbull growlers, but I have 26x9 kenda bearclaw htr square tire setup on my grizzly and really like it. It looks different at first, but I got use to it. Be sure and post some pictures when you get them mounted! Here's couple of my setup.

you should be fine, i have the same STI's with 27x9 growler 2.5's mounted up, before that i had the original growler 10's all the way around no issues rolling either in the rear. Nice tires you'll like them I have no doubt!!

@RansomP - I have seen pics of that bike here before. It was helpful in me coming to the decision to run the same widths on all four corners. I was going to go with the HTR's but found a good deal on the Growlers so.... I'll get pics up when I can.

@dag1401 - Are you running the 27x9s on all corners? Any Pics of the rears? I think the 27x9 and 26x9 have the same "actual" tread/tire width. Seems like I've seen your setup here too but can't remember for sure.

I'm confident you'll be happy with the end results of that set up.

The idea of rotating tires is awesome.
I really considered going PitBull Growler BG2.5 26x9" all the way around on my bike, but the extra cost of new wheels on top of tires here in Canada is scary. So I ended up with 26x9" fronts 26x11"rears Growlers on my factory SE wheels and have never looked back.

All kidding aside...The four-9's will work very well for your area.
My Growlers rock climb with the all the best tires out there. We have softer and some mud trails here so the 12's on the back seem better to me. Other than extreme mud these tire out perform all the other tires I have ever had.

Yeah the looks of the tires weren't my first priority but I'd be lying if I said it didn't matter at all. I'm confident with what I'll get in regards to performance and durability. Tires just showed up. Rims are supposed to be here tomorrow.

I see Rocky Mountain is having a close-out sale on Pitbulls..good prices. I'm riding this set for at least one more year.

The bead locks are great although it is tedious torquing all the bolts. It is important to criss-cross torque them gradually.

RMC is where I got mine. The closeout pricing helped make my mind up on the Growlers. Copy on the torquing procedure.

Got the tires and wheels on a couple of weeks ago. pretty happy with them. It sure was nice to mount tires myself with nothing more than a 10mm socket a T-handle and a torque wrench.

I've had three different sets of tires on mine. Still need to break the inside bead but it is fairly easy.
Clean the groove out good after mud runs. Small pebbles can get lodged in it. Might need to re-torque the rings in the spring.

Yes I figured on checking the torque of the rings after getting some time on them. Thanks for the tip on the "groove". I'm guessing that refers to the groove between the rim and the beadlock ring?

Pics of the back will do. Maybe later today.

@SAGE , I have the same wheels with the Pit Bull Growler UBER XOR tires. I replaced the black beadlock ring with the blue one. It wasn't a perfect color match to the Grizzly blue. But close enough.
