I would suggest skipping it, myself. Alot of extra stress, and tires are a better choice to gain clearence. Stock height clears big tires pretty good, what are you planning on running for wheels/tires?
after looking some more ,you are correct not going to waste my money. think I am going to go up a size in tires and install a 1.5 shim and call it good. going to run stock wheels and bear claws. my riding will be 90% trails..
If you ride trails and are trying to avoid bottoming out just invest in skids and bang the hell out of it. Lift kits make your center of gravity go up and make the grizzly less stable. As whiskey says just up your tire size
