Is it necessary to pull the front diff to change ujoints or is it possible to bang them out under the atv? Manual i have is pretty vague. Any help, tips, advice would be great. Trying to get it going for a ride this weekend!!!
Pulling the diff makes at alot easier. Pulling the diff is easy as well. You do not need to completely remove the diff from the bike. Just remove the mounting bolts and move the diff in the frame to disengage the driveshaft.
Yes you can replace the u-joints without removing the diff, but it's a pain in the a.. doing it that way. It's easier and less aggravating pulling the diff ad removing the driveshaft completely.
Was able to change it without pulling anything thanks to a lot of penetrating oil, hammer/punch, and a 10" c clap. Took about 2 hours to do. Squeek is gone, very very happy with this old bike!!!!
