Has it always been like this or did it get like it over time?

It could be worn rod end parts or a simple as adjusting the shifter rod. Inspect the rod ends for worn or loose parts. Replace as required. If everything seems tight and operating smoothly, adjust the rod. Be careful with over-adjusting as if you adjust it too much towards low position, you'll have trouble selecting park position.

x3 on Dezz and jvictory. Mine has been doing that too but I haven't done the adjustment yet. Soon!

One of my 2007s was tricky, couldn't find that sweet spot where both Park and Low were easy. Settled on a middle ground where Low was a little bit of effort. Thought about modifying the gate but in the end I just left it and dealt with it.

I recently did shifter rod adjustments to my 07 700 EPS. I was able to get to a point where I can shift to Low and Park smoother. Problem now is Nuetral light on dash is intermittent or mostly does not come on at all. It may flash on for a bit as you shift past on Nuetral but then it goes off. Any ideas are much appreciated. Thanks!
