I am trying to figure out exactly what I have. The model number is YFM550FWAD which I can find no information about. It has EPS and came stock with skid plates (a arm and full under). I am assuming that it is a special edition of one of the four standard models but which one? I have tried searching the site and found nothing. I've also done a VIN search but that was no help. Hopefully someone here can help. Thanks.

Not sure about 2013 but my 2009 Grizzly SE 550
Is a YFM5FGPSEY. In my case it's obviously a special edition by the fact that it's written on the bike and the special colour / graphics on the plastics, and the model number has SE. They also have fancier aluminum rims instead of plain steel ones.

Oddly your bike model isn't even listed on this parts site. Sure it's a 2013?

Are your skid plates plastic or aluminum? Plastics are standard issue item.

The 10th character on the VIN says it is a 2013. The skids are plastic so thanks for that tidbit, didn't know they are standard. I've been looking for info on this thing and finding only the occasional for sale. Still hoping there is a model guru on the site. :smile2: Will be out of touch for a few days but please keep the info coming. Thanks

The last 2 digits is "usually" the models color, meaning nothing more than the color of the plastics. Sometimes it denotes a Special Edition model. This is usually nothing more than painted plastics, different wheels, and sometimes bumpers or guards added.

As dezz said, there's usually a letter in there for the color- R, B, G, H (Hunter or Camo) and SE for Special Edition.

Back from the mountains. The color is green and the model number bears no resemblance to the four model numbers on the owners manual.

So if the model is the YMF5FGPHD, which is the longest on the owners manual, it would be:

YMF - model
5 - engine (550)
F - four wheel drive
G - green
P - power steering (it has EPS)
H - ?
D - ?
