97 Big Bear carb diaphragm/slide

Hi everyone. What I want to know is can the plastic "gate" that the slide connected to the diaphragm moves up and down in be replaced? It has two security torx head screws holding it in. I can clean it and it runs awesome for about 10 minutes and then hangs up again. The slide looks ok, but something between those two components isn't working. Thanks
