Installed a new aftermarket carb and can't get the fuel/air mixture screw set correctly so it has good throttle response all the time. Is the next step to change the jet needle clip? I did not check it before installing the new carb. Does the carb have to come off to change it or can you get it off in the frame?

Your best to throw that cheap aftermarket Chinese carburetor in the garbage and fix your original OEM Mikuni carburetor.
Those aftermarket carbs are hit or miss at best.

On my 96 Kodiak 400 i had bought an ebay carb and i had to move the clip on the needle down one, ive have now bought the Dynojet re-jet kit and it has a lot better response now but you most likely should take the carb off.
