99 Kodiak Choke Kit discontinued, HELP

I have a 99 Kodiak 400 that starts and runs just fine in the summer, but now that it is cold, I need to choke it. It is very touchy with the knob on the carb style choke. All way out, fires fast and dies, repeats 6 or 7 times. One notch in, not quite enough. I went looking for the 5EH-1410A "starter kit" but it is discontinued. The 5GH-1410A looks similar but it is cable run to the handle bar controls 2000 and beyond. Does anyone have advice to convert to a a cable style and the controls to do it. OR point me to a site that still has some of the old choke kits in stock. Thanks.

My go-to sites for exact drop in replacement didn't have yours. So looks like you'll have to convert. Which you'll probably be happier with the finished product that way anyway.

As long as the rest of the carb parts are identical, the plunger should fit right in. So the biggest quest you'll have to answer is how do you want to connect the choke cable at the handlebar? Buy a whole oem style unit? Or just rig one up yourself and leave the rest of the controls alone?
