I forgot to mention that iam getting spark and fuel. Still nothing but backfiring...CDI box maybe?
did it run ok b4 you adjusted the valves ???
I'm betting there is a timing problem.
Pull the plug and do the straw down the spark plug hole trick.
Find T.D.C. by the straw and align the timing marks, then see if the valves moved by the cam are closed or open.
Hey...Conway...Welcome to GC from Wisconsin.

Could be water in the fuel. Drain the tank and carb bowl. Fill it up with fresh fuel and a couple shots of red bottle isoHeet.
Thnx. So far I have drained all fuel. But I put the flywheel mark on tdc but the cam timing marks isn?t right. Do you think woodruff key?

On my 660 and 700 the cam gear index mark have aways been off a little.
Sheared woodruff is a possibility. Could be a bad timing chain. Is there a lot of slack in the chain?

Double check that the engine was at TDC of the compression stroke when you checked the cam timing marks.
Update.
Woodruff key was sheared.
