I've not seen an a.t.v. tire, stock or aftermarket that runs flat on the ground across the tread on dry trails that are dished or on rocks.
https://flic.kr/p/mHZfr8 https://flic.kr/p/gM5q7e https://flic.kr/p/gM5iC2 I like the 9" up front, that's all I need and the 12"ers out back work great. The 12"ers are 11" wide true.
In snow or wet conditions I think the wider tire does better, I can't prove it for sure but I ride with guys using narrower tires and see the trouble they have on the same trails.
This is heading up the Imogene, notice the snow on the tire treads, the rears are the only tires pulling. I use 2 wheel to get stuck and 4 wheel to get out. skinny all around has its place but skinny wide is what I use here.

I really want to get a full set of OG Bighorns for my Wife's 2015 Grizz as her factory tires are plumb worn out...but damn, the price hike on them is just out of this world unreasonable in my opinion.

I dont spend that much on tires for my Duramax and I buy premium Michelins for it!

It really doesnt make any sense and it just seems like pure highway robbery to me.

Yeah, yeah, I know...you get what you pay for, blah, blah blah but I've always prided myself in being a smart consumer too.

I just got confirmation that this February is Maxxis amnesty month (dealers aren't beholden to the minimum advertised price for the month). So, sales should be coming. I just got a quote for 796 out the door for 26x9x14 OG Bighorns. It's still fairly expensive, but much better than the 1056 price I was seeing online everywhere.
Yes, thats a darned site better price for sure.

Thanks for the info, I'll keep my eyes peeled. (y)

Still at basically $800, that's crazy money. I've been researching and seen a couple places that have the Bearclaws right around $500. I think that's the way I'm going to go, unless the Hellhound are released.

I haven’t shopped ATV tires in a decade, so I was pretty surprised too. Damn near everything has increased a lot price over the past two years. I’ll probably have the tires on my machine for the next 5 years, though, so still with it since I really want the Bighorns for my intended use. $300 extra over 5 years…$60 a year. Wish they were cheaper, but I can live with that.
