Deal fell through...

Well, the deal I had made with a local dealer for a 2018 grizzly eps camo fell through. Basically, their OTD price, was the grizzly, tax and licensing...then thy wanted to tack on all their associates fees above that...it was another 1200 bucks...so while the deal wasn’t terrible, the actual OTD price was now going to be over 11k...so out of principle, because they lied /omitted info...I am taking my business elsewhere.

Any one local to the Central Valley of Cali know of any good dealers? I’m willing to travel a bit.

Thanks,

Jake

Sorry to hear that, keep looking, you will find what you want, at your price, and welcome 2 GC.
I would have done the exact same thing. I hate being lied too....and I royally hate salesman tactics like that. "Associate or administration fees" is nothing more than 100% profit. You are not getting anything for that money. It's just something they gave a name too to justify getting more money from you.

How disappointing, I hate that for you but you did do the right thing imo. I have played this game one to many times with buying new cars, Be patient and things usually work out, good luck.
In my family we call salesmen badgers. If you know much about badgers... Well, you get the point. There are good guys out there, but seems like most are bad news. I agree with you walking away.
Would love to see their itemized sales breakdown of all the fees and Grizzly pricing.

At $11k, sounds like '18 Grizzly EPS with camo at MSRP with CA tax. You probably won't do worse at the next dealer. Good luck with the search.

Welcome to GC from Maine, and business people that are not totally upfront about EVERYTHING don't deserve to be in business. You will find the right deal with the right shop, I'm sure.
@steelefx4, that's a great photo of the jet. Are you a pilot?
Yeah, I fly Super Hornets, Navy has been great to me!

Mr. steelefx4, the Grizzly must be pretty tame compared your day job. Pretty cool.

On topic, the salesman tacked on an extra $25 for our required OHV sticker that was prior agreed to OTD, I could afford that easy enough but the principal was a deal killer, almost walked out the door but they came to their senses as I stood up.
Car sales are a whole different animal and a Badger well defines some.
@steelefx4, thank you for your service. it is more appreciated than you might realize. I have the utmost respect for all of our military, but I have to say, flying one of those rockets loaded with armaments is just over the top. My Dad was a world war veteran and a lifelong member of The American Legion. Please be careful as you can out there!
Yes, thank you for your service. If there is one thing I HATE, it's a salesperson taking advantage of our military. I hope you find the Grizz you are looking for and welcome to GC from Nebraska!
You might try Costco pricing. A call or email to Costco gives you their preferred dealer who will give you the Costco OTD pricing. You can buy it there or take the pricing sheet to another dealer for a possible price match. It may not be the lowest price in the country but it appeared to be a fair deal when I bought my 2016 Grizzly.

A little bit off-topic but I envie you ........... still flying jets. Nowadays for me it's, let's say: "time flies after having fun" :wink2::wink2:

That 1200 would of needed mentioning in out the door price. I walk when the numbers change also. I wonder if any places give active military discounts?

Sidebar note: take care of your ears, noise exposure and the subsequent hearing loss permanently grounds good pilots. This means use hearing protection walking around other jets if engines running, lawn mowers, weed eaters and chainsaws, etc.

What this really means, if the military tells you to use hearing protection when doing this.....do it.

Google Abernathy in Tennessee, you can find out what out the door price can be. These machines are getting expensive. I walked out on a Rzr deal completed over the phone at this place over a salesman guaranteeing me a new, just put together Rzr to the one they wanted to selling my wife and son when they showed up to get it having like twenty five miles on it. Been used as a demo awhile.....
I know the feeling on the extras being tacked onto the price. Here in MN the same ATV was $10,299 +7.5% sales tax + 385 destination fee = $11,456 before licensing and any additional fees (Assembly, processing...). By the time it was done I was almost paying the same amount that my friend payed for his 2017 Polaris 1000XP with the hunters package at a different stealership.

Yeah I walked as well.
Typical dealer bait and switch. They must have former car dealer guys working there.
Get you all excited and emotionally committed, then play stupid and act like you should have known about the added costs.
Ended up picking one up a few days ago. Paid 10.2k OTD, and they had the free winch there and installed it free of charge.

Only got a few hrs of riding in while I was in AZ this past week archery hunting. Really need to get heated grips!!!
