Factory Aluminum wheels worth keeping?

2116 Views 4 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  Madkawi750
Are the factory aluminum wheels that come with the 2018 Grizzly 700 SE decent quality? I dont care for the tires, but dont mind the wheels, thoughts?

If I can reuse the stock wheels without concerns, that would save me some coin that I could put towards a winch or other stuff.

Thanks

Abuse them until you need to lose them.

I don't recall seeing any info where someone mentioned that 16+ SE OEM wheels were weak. I'd keep them and I think they look as nice as a lot of the aftermarket wheels.

Exactly. Only reason I can think of to get rid of them as new would be if you NEED beadlock rims.

I got 125 my plain jane stock wheels from my old Honda Rubicon. I’m sure you’d do better since yours are more sporty. ITP wheels are a popular choice as most have a lifetime warranty against bends and breaks. You’ll also get a bit wider track with aftermarket wheels which adds to stability. But if you’re happy with the stockers and think they’ll work for ya then keep’em until the needs arises for something different. Depending on how you ride, that day may need come.

Now let’s talk tires... Whatcha thinking?

Thanks

Yep. Like ITP SD Black Ops, perhaps? lol
I love the factory wheels. the look really nice and there is no Stupid offset to throw mud all over you from every little puddle. When will the Aftermarket wheel guys get it together and make wheels with stock offset? I've spoken with so many people who would run a nice shiny aftermarket wheel but hate the offset so they choose not to spend the money on it.. Its money lost for companies like ITP, MSA, Douglas etc...

I had the stock wheel in one hand and an STI wheel in the other.. couldn't tell the difference in weight so I'd guess one is as strong as the other
